Everything below is included as part of the Winter Work Japan programme:

  • Winter Work Japan WhatsApp group with other participants
  • Airport meet & greet + ¥1,500 Suica travel card for public transport to your arrival hostel (eligible airports, dates and times vary)
  • Arrival orientation in Tokyo or Sapporo*; includes:
    • 3 nights’ hostel accommodation
    • Japan welcome prep session
    • walking tour
    • a group lunch
    • ¥1,000 Kombini voucher (convenience store voucher)

*Contract length differs by employer, typically 3-4 month contracts. Accommodation usually shared hostel-style housing, taken out of monthly salary by employer. Your arrival orientation location will depend on your placement location. 

Other costs to bear in mind

These third-party costs aren’t included in the programme fee and should be budgeted for separately:

  • Return flights to Japan
  • Working Holiday Visa costs
  • Transfer from your arrival orientation city to your resort
  • Personal travel insurance
  • Ski/Lift pass and ski equipment
  • Spending money for your first month before payday
